How I got here

When I was a child, I dreamed about being an astronaut, but that was just a 5 years old boy who loved Star Wars and Buzz from Toy Story, it was a thought inspired by movies, and as time went on that dream disappeared like many other childhood things. Some years later, teenager Matías wasn't able to make up his mind on the subject and wasn't forcing himself to choose.

That changed on 11th grade, when I met my phylosophy teacher. And after a few months I was taking interest in studying psychology or phylosophy, but those ideas faded away when I found about anthropology, for me it was fascinating to study about ancient cultures and native cultures that were still part of our society. I was 100% sure that I was going to study that, but then I found about how hard it was to find a job and how anthropologists' studies were almost completely ignored.

So, how did I find about Public Administration? On my last year on school, I had some serious problems with the director and his people, there was a point when I had to go to SEREMI de Educación for my region and that's when I met a public administrator who was very kind in the process of helping me. I did my research at home and by the end of the year I was already certain about what I would study next year.

So far my experience has been great, the career is what I expected it to be and I've met wonderful people here, although I had to stop my studies for a year and now I'm slowly adapting to this new generation. When I'm done I would like to work near my hometown, Viña del Mar.
